Jose M. Rivera, Esq. who has been with the firm since 1998 is a real estate attorney specializing in condominium and co-operative conversions, New York City real estate tax incentive programs and the transfer of transferrable development rights (“air rights”) and inclusionary zoning rights. He assists clients to creating, maintaining, realizing and reviewing condominium development projects, and registering said projects with New York State and New York City agencies. On the regulatory side, Mr. Rivera assists clients in obtaining approval of and maintaining various New York City real estate tax exemption and abatement program benefits (421-a, 421-a(16) Affordable New York Program, 421-b, 421-g, J51, Industrial Commercial Incentive Program (ICIP) and its successor the Industrial Commercial Abatement Program (ICAP)) for condominium, rental, residential, commercial, community facility and mixed-use buildings. Mr. Rivera also represents high-net-worth individuals in purchasing and selling prime-location residential properties, including individual and multiple condominium units and co-operative apartments.  In addition, Mr. Rivera represents lenders of condominium loans with due diligence in reviewing condominium regulatory and related filings.

Mr. Rivera’s practice involves the representation of a wide range of clients ranging from smaller family owned developers to major real estate owners to lenders in every New York City Borough. Through his work, he has successfully established many precedents in New York City real property tax exemption policies involving complex development projects.

Mr. Rivera along with other members of the DLPartners team have represented and continue to represent developers and owners, in a variety of condominium conversion projects.
