Christopher M. Tarnok is a partner of the firm’s litigation department.  Mr. Tarnok counsels clients in litigation and alternate dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration.  His practice spans across all areas of construction, real estate and commercial law, including access disputes arising under RPAPL §881, contract disputes, construction disputes, commercial lease disputes, discharge and foreclosure of mechanic’s liens, insurance coverage disputes and lien priority disputes.  He also contributes his experience as a litigator to the firm’s transactional team in reviewing documents covering various development aspects of projects.

Mr. Tarnok also represents the interests of owners, developers, architects and contractors in the preparation and negotiation of construction agreements for residential and commercial projects throughout New York City.  His litigation background and experience provides him with a unique perspective on such agreements and makes him a valuable asset to our transactional team as well.  He also has substantial experience in protecting and gaining access to properties during construction through access and indemnification agreements and special proceedings commenced pursuant to RPAPL §881.

An active member of the New York State Bar Association, Mr. Tarnok serves as a section member of the Committee on Real Estate Construction and has served a panel member for the New York State Bar Association.
